Topic: "The Five-point Guide to Investment Success"
Presenter: Carl M. Birkelbach, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Birkelbach Management Corp. and
Birkelbach Investment Securities,Inc

About the time the stock market hit bottom in October 2002, a TV commercial showed a man fleeing his house in terror as he sees the mail carrier coming up the walk. The man is an investor who knows his portfolio's quarterly statement is being delivered.
Although stocks climbed significantly since that commercial was made, investors should have learned once and for all that the stock market is not a one-way street. To help make the hard-won lesson pay off, Carl Birkelbach drew on his nearly 40 years as an authoritative investment investment strategist to spell out a five-point strategy that offers the best hope for high returns in the years ahead.

Subjects discussed:
  • how to apply technical analysis for evaluation of securities and "listen" to the market tell us what it's going to do, using charts to pick the best growth potential
  • how to determine risk/reward tolerance and match it to equities of companies that reduce risk and enhance shareholder value by following a "philosophy of corporate sustainability"
  • how to find competence, service and security in a well-informed broker or money manager, whose help enhances the investor's self-reliance

Carl M. Birkelbach founded and headed, since 1974, Birkelbach Management Corp., a Chicago- based money manager and a registered investment advisor, and Birkelbach Investment Securities, Inc. (BIS), a securities broker-dealer registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a member of NASD.
Carl became known to the investment community as the "lone bull" by being one of the few stock market commentators who, in the side-ways moving market of the 1970's and the early 1980's, foresaw the bull market of the rest of the 1980's and 1990's.
A lifetime AAII member with nearly 40 years of investment experience, Carl has authored "Stock Market Forecasting Through Charting", and has edited more than 500 BIS Investment Strategy Letters and business and finance programs.
