Washington DC Metro Chapter Profile

The Washington DC Metro Chapter holds monthly chapter meetings except for the months of August and December.

Our meetings have speakers, who are experts or well-known professionals, covering a wide range of investment topics: common stocks, bonds, real estate, mutual funds, financial planning, taxes, strategies, the economy and its impact on investing, etc.

Please note our location for both
meetings and workshops

Courtyard by Marriott
Alexandria Pentagon South

4641 Kenmore Avenue
(at 395 and Seminary Road)
Alexandria, Virginia 22304

Note:

Parking at the hotel is free.
If you drive to an AAII event and find the hotel parking garage is full, please be aware that the overflow parking lot is next door, at the closed restaurant. Do not park across the street in the shopping center parking lot for an AAII event. A watchful guard will have your car towed if you are not a shopping center customer. If you park in the overflow lot, please advise a Board member at the registration desk that you needed to do so.

If you take the Metro, take a Blue or Orange Line train to Reagan National Airport Metro Stop.
Free shuttle service to the hotel from the baggage claim area, door no. 5 at Reagan National Airport, is provided by the hotel.

General Event Registration Deadlines and Fees

Most AAII Washington DC Metro Chapter events (i.e., meetings and workshops) take place at the Courtyard by Marriott – Alexandria Pentagon South on Saturday mornings.

There are three methods of registration:

  1. On-line Registration
You can register on-line up until 9 p.m. of the day before an event. Registration fees are $28 for meetings and $53 for workshops until the Tuesday prior to an event. After Tuesday, the registration fees are $5 more.
  2. Postal Mail
We encourage and prefer everyone to register for meetings and workshops on-line, but we accept registrations by postal mail. You can register for an AAII event by postal mail by sending a completed registration form and check to AAII Washington DC Metro Chapter, P. O. Box 2751, Merrifield VA 22116. Your letter must be received by the Tuesday before the Saturday event. We recommend you mail your letter no later than the weekend before the Saturday event. Postal mail registration fees are $28 for meetings and $53 for workshops.
  3. At-the-Door Registration
We allow “at the door” registrations on the day of an event on a walk-in and space available basis. We can generally accommodate all walk-in registrants, but priority is provided to pre-registered individuals. We cannot guarantee admission to an event on a walk-in basis. Walk-in registration fees are $38 for meetings and $63 for workshops.

A 50% registration fee discount is available for full-time high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. The 50% discount is also available to part-time undergraduate and graduate students who are part-time employed.

Any individual who has an ADA disability need with attending an event should call Sondra Katz at 301-593-4542 or send her an e-mail
